With the help of sister churches and business partners, this years goal of 740 cases of canned string beans, corn and peas resulted in 8,880 cans collected and distributed amongst Lake Christian Ministry, Henry Fork Service Center, Stepping Stone Mission of Franklin County, Bedford Christian Ministries, Heavenly Manna Food Bank, and food ministries headquartered out of Parrish Chapel UMC, Mt. Zion A.M.E., and Hill Street Missionary Baptist Church.
Three groups, The Early Family of Christiansburg, The Moyer Brothers of Roanoke and Brooke McGrady of Wirtz provided different styles of music and powerful testimonies, praising God while helping collect the canned food for area food ministries!
Master of Ceremonies Elder John Word introduced the groups, gave out door prizes, and kept the program flowing! Cheers and applause greeted each announcement of door prize winners and followed after every performance.
Food ministries who will receive cases of canned food from the success of the food drive include: Lake Christian Ministry, Mt. Zion A.M.E.
