PETERSBURG, VA — Elvah D. Taylor of Acorn Assembly #103 of Roanoke, was elevated to the highest post of the Virginia State Council of Assemblies Order of the Golden Circle- Prince Hall Affiliated. Taylor and her colleague Margaret Bailey of Richmond, VA, both made history for the State of Virginia when anointed as Past State Grand Loyal Lady Rulers (PSGLLR) at the Virginia State Council of Deliberations 33rd Degree Masons and the Virginia State Council of Assemblies. This honorable anointing was performed by George Ellis, Jr. Past State Grand Sovereign Inspector General. Taylor was further elected as President of the Virginia PSGLLR’s Council.
The organization’s fundamental purposes are to support charities and promote philanthropy. Those supported include: St. JUDES Hospital, The Clark Muckle Charity Fund for Leukemia, Breast Cancer and other agencies. Scholarships are also granted to students who attend college in the state of Virginia.
Also financially supported are emergency and natural disaster relief organizations in Virginia including assistance in feeding communities and aiding nursing homes.
As Taylor and Bailey served their positions outstandingly, by authority under the Jurisdiction of United Supreme Council of DC, they were anointed by Deputy for the Orient of VA SGIG Michael Parris, 33rd degree and graciously greeted by their loyal ladies who witnessed the elaborate ceremony. They were additionally crowned and collared in June.
