The Roanoke Chapter of the Links, Inc. announces the awarding of $1,000.00 scholarships to the following High School Seniors. Curtis Staples, a graduate of Salem High School, the son of Taisha and Dwight Steele, Jr. and Curtis Staples, Sr. He will be attending Stanford University, in Palo Alto, CA. The other recipient Asleigh Lowery, daughter of Richard and Melissa Lowery is a graduate of Patrick Henry High School. She will be attending Virginia Tech.
Presenting the scholarships are Mrs. Connie Steele, chapter president and Mrs. Anita Price, scholarship chairman.
The Links, Inc. is an international, not-for-profit corporation, established in 1946. The membership consists of nearly 14,000 professional women of color in 287 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.
