It has been said, “Music is a ladder whereby the spirit of man may ascend to the Supreme Horizon.” Also that music washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.
“Give me the making of the songs of a nation and I will tell you the nature and characteristics of its people,” stated another, as music is allied to the highest sentiments of man’s moral nature. Music emanates best through LOVE–of God, country, home, family and friends–as opposed to things! Music is also among the most important of arts as it has the greatest effect upon the human spirit–as well as the animal kingdom.
“The hills are alive with the sound of music,” begins one of the songs from The Sound of Music. . . and so, too are the valleys, the mountains the islands and the meadows, the land and the seas. All have their respective musical effect upon man and nature. Music emanates best through Love–of God, family, home, friends and country. “Woe to that nation in which these sentiments are allowed to decay,” as love and unity add the divine harmony which is the true Song of Life. All of nature communicates through its respective source, creating a Spiritual Symphony of true religion in the eternal Key of Love!
Although melodies are material they still produce spiritual effects. One kind of music may create a happy effect while another can make one sad and yet another agitate one toward violence. Music can awaken and intensify whatever is in the heart of man. Whether the feelings occur accidentally or through provocation, when we hear music our true nature will reassert it self. I never ascend the stairs at night without going first through the piano that sits at the foot, to relieve the pressures of the day.
“This wonderful age has rent asunder the veils of superstition and has condemned the prejudices of the people of this comparatively new nation,” according to the Holy Writings of this New Day of God. In this great dispensation music is one of the arts that is highly approved and considered to be the cause of the exaltation of sad and despondent hearts as music is the heart’s own language.”
May we then choose to listen to a symphony that will confer LIFE (rather than death) upon man! Then shall we obtain universal results; then shall we receive a new spirit; then shall we become illumined to the extent that men shall “…see our GOOD works and glorify our mutual Father which is in heaven-–(by Whatever Name) through our combined religious actions of faith and join in one universal Chorus of Love, unfolding the inner potentialities of this life.
