U.S. Cellular is excited to announce that Bertram Daniels, area sales manager for U.S. Cellular, has been named to the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia. Bertram has been actively involved with the club as a volunteer and mentor for more than eight years and has worked on many club programs such as U.S. Cellular’s Annual Black History Month Art Contest, a playground club rebuild and club painting, teaching wireless safety, setting up mock interviews and training sessions to teach job interview skills, among others.
“Bertram is already looked up to as a role model by many of our members and he is always looking for ways to contribute to the club. We think his leadership skills are a great asset to our board and a way to utilize his passion for community involvement and business knowledge,” said Michelle Davis, chief executive officer, Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia.
Bertram has been with U.S. Cellular for 18 years, having received two Dynamic Leader awards.
Prior to his current position, he served as store manager at U.S. Cellular in Hagerstown, Md., where he successfully moved from store manager to area sales manager. Bertram enjoys building relationships and working with people to achieve goals and provide outstanding customer service. Before joining U.S. Cellular, he was a Customer Service, Training Manager for jewelry at Montgomery Ward.
Daniels earned the bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Benedict College in Columbus, SC. He has also taken advanced educational courses in media training and communications and attended the Emerging Leadership Conference at Virginia Tech.
Bertram resides in Roanoke where he has lived for the past eight years. He also lived in Maryland for 28 years and is originally from Lake City, SC. In his spare time he enjoys traveling and spending time with family.
