The Roanoke Chapter SCLC will hold its annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Day March and Service at 1:00 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, (assembling at 12:30p.m) at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Bridge located on 1st Street in NW, Roanoke.
This year’s service will be held at Roanoke Catholic School located at 621 N. Jefferson St., at 2:00p.m. with quest speaker Dr. Tennelle Curtis and Coach George Miller as the MC.
Youth honorees from local high schools are: Rahmani Cobb and Simran Drakeford, from Patrick Henry: Alex Paras, Roanoke Catholic; and Karen L. Garcia-Paz, Deaquan J. Nichols, and Kameron A. Washington-Brown, William Fleming.
The Addison, Fleming, and P.H. Combined Gospel Choir will perform under the direction of Jeffrey Williams.
