Roanoke Fire-EMS receives International Accreditation

Roanoke Fire-EMS is pleased to announce that the department has received International Accreditation for the 4th time from the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI). Roanoke Fire- EMS is one of more than 200 agencies to achieve Internationally Accredited Agency status with CFAI and the Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE). The CFAI process is voluntary and provides an agency with an improvement model to assess their service delivery and performance internally and then works with a team of peers from other agencies to evaluate their completed self-assessment. Running with Perseverance

For faith advocates working to bring the voices and concerns of the most vulnerable in our communities to the center of public policy decision-making, the last several months have felt like an advocacy marathon.  I have run two marathons in my life, and I learned the importance of pacing, stopping at water stations, and celebrating every small step toward the goal.  As we approach the 2017 August congressional recess, we have an opportunity to do those things that will prepare us for the long haul of justice advocacy.
