A deserving Star City resident recently took home the Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors Good Neighbor Award. Established to recognize excellence in various areas of real estate and community contributions, the ceremony took place at the Hotel Roanoke.
Widely regarded as one of the better agents in the region, as the owner of Palmer Realty Group, Andre Palmer prides himself on promoting ownership over occupancy. According to the website, his team consists of four realtors: Timothy Simmons, Benjamin Bosse, Porsche Roundtree and Kathryn Hopkins.
“The Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors presented me with the Good Neighbor award for the volunteer work I’ve been doing at an amazing organization, The Hope Center,” he said. “Not only did I receive a beautiful plaque, but the non-profit organization that serves my community received a donation of $1,000.”
One doesn’t make it in the real estate profession by luck. Palmer understands the importance of home ownership, especially in the Black community.
“Finding your ideal home can be a tricky business. My aim is to take stress out of the process. Whatever your budget, I should be able to find something that works. Every listing has a detailed description as well as photographs of the property, with more available upon request,” he said.
Continuing, he added, “For those looking to sell, allow me to give you a fair valuation of your property’s worth. I pride myself on creating informative and engaging listings for each house on my books. I have my finger on the pulse of the housing market, enabling me to help you get the best deal.”
At the Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors, the purpose is to serve as the primary resource to enable its members to conduct their real estate practice in an efficient and ethical manner while attaining professional success.
If it is one thing that all great realtors have in common, it’s a client-first mindset in addition to a deep local market knowledge, strong integrity and exceptional communication.
Palmer’s advice for those skeptical about the whole process is simple, but straightforward: “Believe in yourself, even when those around you don’t. They told me not to get into real estate. Imagine if I listened. None of us start at the finish line. If owning a home seems impossible, trust me, it’s not. It won’t happen overnight, but the process of homeownership is not scary at all.”
