The Arts and Letters Commission of the Roanoke Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will present its 5th Annual Doggy Fashion Show, “Dogs for A Cause” on Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Ramada Inn located at 1927 Franklin Road.
This delightful show featuring area dogs and their pet owners will begin at 4:00 p.m. Local talent will include elementary students from North Cross School, City Modern Ensemble, Sorority Sister, Dorothy Johnson and Lelia Bryant, 2016 recipient of the Frances Ragsdale Award for artistic excellence.
This annual community service project is a fundraiser to support the Saint Francis Service Dogs. The 2016 Doggy Fashion Show will be dedicated to the late Carol Willoughby, founder of the Saint Francis Service Dogs. Service Dogs are trained to help their masters. The training cost is $25,000.00 per dog. For the past four years, the chapter has been able to give a sizable donation to this agency.
The Deltas are looking for continued support in this project. You may help by purchasing a $5.00
ticket.
Please contact Laurice Hampton, event coordinator, at 540-580-0804 or at 540-562-0250 for information about placing your pet in this fashion show or for ticket purchases. Tickets may also be purchased at the door.
This Doggy Fashion Show will be one that you will always remember. Your attendance is encouraged and will certainly be appreciated. Monica Callaway is chapter president.
