Roanoke-based ad agency AccessU continues to grow with four new critical hires that reinforce its position as a respected leader in education marketing for nearly 30 years. The agency has strengthened its leadership team, expanded its strategic communications division and made a pivotal hire to elevate its production capabilities.

AccessU is proud to welcome Pete Colbert as its vice president of business development. With two decades of experience in higher education enrollment and admissions, including nearly a decade advising colleges and universities across the country, Colbert brings invaluable expertise to the team. His deep knowledge of higher education marketing, combined with his outstanding industry reputation, will be a tremendous asset in advancing AccessU’s mission to elevate institutions of higher learning.

Production pro Riley Murtagh joins the AccessU team as senior editor and videographer. He brings a diverse background in videography that spans television, production companies, YouTube and higher education, including Radford University. With a keen eye for showcasing colleges, Murtagh’s expertise in producing student recruitment and promotional content will be an invaluable resource for AccessU’s clients.

AccessU’s Strategic Communications team welcomes two accomplished communications professionals who bring specialized expertise to the agency’s growing capabilities. Emmy Award-winning journalist Amanda Kenney signs on as public relations manager, bringing 15 years of newsroom experience and storytelling expertise to amplify client narratives and media relationships. Social media manager Lauren Ware rounds out the expansion, contributing her education-focused digital strategy background to help AccessU and its clients navigate and excel in today’s evolving social landscape.

“AccessU is strategically building a world-class team to propel us into our next chapter,” said Tony Pearman, president and CEO of AccessU. “Pete’s leadership will be instrumental in driving that growth, and we’re excited to welcome these incredible talents who will bring unique skills to enhance our capabilities and deliver even greater value to our clients.”

Over the past five years, AccessU has more than tripled in size while maintaining its trajectory toward future growth opportunities. The agency has assembled an elite team that positions AccessU to continue leading the charge in higher education marketing, driving innovation, and delivering measurable results.
