Simply amazing and invigorating is the Lyric Theatre’s presentation of Elton John and Tim Rice’s ‘Aida’! Nearby Rocky Mount native, India Tyree’s portrayal as ‘Aida’ in the timeless love story is electrifying and Broadway worthy and her portrayal of Aida and the chemistry between co-star Haden Rider, as Ramades was magical. Lauren Hill as Amneris and George Roberts as Mereb added lively humor. The cast was also very vibrant keeping the audience engaged from start to finish, ended with a standing ovation!
Director Taylor Buice and the production team made this presentation mesmerizing with the scenic, lighting, choreography, music and costume designs that were spectacular.
This must-see production is running through September 2, at The Lyric Atlanta Theatre in Marietta, GA.
Since relocating to Atlanta, India has to her credit: Serenbe’s Titanic (Kate Murphey); The Little Mermaid (Sebastian); Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre, The First Noel. She credits her grandmother, Shirley Tyree for her strong work ethics in pursuing her dream in the theater.
