Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Beta Chi Omega Chapter proudly welcomed six new members into its sisterhood following the successful completion of its Membership Experience on April 26, 2026, under the leadership of Chapter President Cleopatra Kitt and Membership Chairman Carla Shepherd. This significant milestone reflects the Sorority’s continued commitment to cultivating leadership, service, and scholarship.
To commemorate the occasion, a formal New Members Luncheon, catered by Mother2Son Catering, was held at the L.H. Hamlar Event Center. The event featured Tracey D. Watkins, Esq., Mid-Atlantic Regional Director-Elect and current Chairman of the International Graduate Advisors Certification Committee, as the keynote speaker. Her remarks emphasized the enduring legacy of the Sorority and the responsibility entrusted to each member to uphold its long-standing standards of excellence.
In recognition of 118 years of service to all mankind, the ceremony paid tribute to the Sorority’s rich heritage and its sustained impact at the local, regional, and international levels. Regional Director-Elect Tracey D. Watkins, Esq. reminded us that while the Membership Experience marks a significant achievement, it also signals the beginning of a lifelong commitment to purposeful service and leadership.
As these new members embark on their journey, they join a legacy defined by excellence, unity, and an unwavering dedication to uplifting communities. The Beta Chi Omega Chapter extends a warm and heartfelt welcome to its newest members: Amanda Burch, Andrea Bonds, Christine Brandon, Jasmine Graham, Kaylan Haley, and Makaila Veney.
