On May 9, the Beta Chi Omega Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. honored Katina Casey Hamlar and Laurie Beane Peery.
Ms. Hamlar was recognized for being an honoree during the recent Black Girls Rock program hosted by the Roanoke Chapter of the Continental Societies, Inc.
Ms. Peery was recognized for the many years of selfless service to the sorority, church, the community, and honored as an outstanding mother and role model. She was unable to attend the meeting as she was participating in a weeklong conference representing her church, Bethel AME. Church.
