American Democracy’s Foreign and Domestic Enemies

April 19, 2025

I swore the Oath many times that I would defend America against all enemies Foreign and Domestic that pertained during my 20 plus years in the Air Force, as well as when I served on several national boards and commissions after retiring.  That Oath is what impelled me — no, compelled me — to volunteer for the Vietnam War at its height, when, because of my impending new job at Lowry AFB in Denver, CO, it was unlikely that I would have had to go.

There were four males in my core family — father and three boys.  We served a combined total of forty years in four of the five branches at that time, and served in three wars —WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.

I survived the infamous 1968 Vietnam TET Offensive. And despite Trump’s assertion, and notwithstanding my numerous Agent Orange medical maladies, to this day I do not consider myself a sucker and loser.

I don’t think Crispus Attucks; the soldiers who fought for America in the Civil War; General Chappie James, Roanoke’s Ralph Claytor and the other Tuskegee Airmen; or General B.O. Davis, Jr., and Colin Powell would consider themselves suckers and losers either.  They were not “draft dodgers” or Thomas Paine’s “Summer Soldiers and Sunshine Patriots” who shrink from service to America in times of crisis.

House members, senators, members of the US Supreme Court and cabinet members swear the same Oath.

Individuals become Americans ONLY when they reject the primacy of all other allegiances and adopt America’s Culture, Mores and Creed as delineated by The Virginia Declaration of Rights; The Declaration of Independence; and The United States Constitution.

TREASONISTS and TRAITORS, Domestic Enemies, are people with distorted loyalty who provoke (e.g. foment coups de état), participate in, or support acts of violence against America, in word or deed.  They are not inclined to rely on the democratic process to make changes in society, favoring violence over voting and voter suppression over freedom of choice.

Treasonist and Traitorous Acts include any behavior that directly strengthens, encourages, or defends Foreign and Domestic enemies, or weakens the power of America to resist such enemies in the future.

Supporters, those who render Aid and Comfort to our enemies, are culpable before the fact if they knew traitorous acts were being considered and did not speak out; and after the fact if they fail to speak out in open condemnation of the Treasonists/Traitors, especially our “Leaders” who took an oath to support and defend America.

“Silence becomes cowardice when occasion demands speaking out the whole truth and acting accordingly.”  – Mahatma Gandhi

It is quite obvious that some of our New Rulers in DC, especially Trump’s cabinet members, have a much greater loyalty to Fascist Objectives, as well as to the objectives of the Confederacy, than they do to Democratic Principles.

In addition: “People who elect corrupt politicians, imposters, thieves and traitors (or facilitate their election) are not victims but accomplices.”  – George Orwell

National Conscience — normally inculcated starting in our earliest school years (I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE…) — was built on America’s asserted moral values and Democratic Principles is now openly violated every day by leaders at the highest national levels and their behavior influences citizen conduct.

“Confronted with the impossibility of remaining faithful to one’s beliefs, and the equal impossibility of becoming free of them, one can be driven to the most inhuman excesses.”  – James Baldwin

“Citizen Indifference – such as self-disenfranchisement – constitutes one of the most serious acts of support for America’s enemies. Simple indifference becomes Depraved Indifference in accordance with the level of harm already extant in the nation.

SHAME: The self-disenfranchisers — 111 million in 2024 — ought to be called out.  Their disinterest in the fate of their nation has been instrumental in the looming transformation of America into a Fascist country. Their lack of fulfillment of their civic responsibility to vote in 2016 led to the election of Trump and set up his reelection in 2024, which their lack of participation also assured.

Patriotism means to stand by the country. It does not mean to stand by the president.  –Theodore Roosevelt

The only title in our democracy superior to that of President is the title of citizen.  – Louis D. Brandeis

The attack on January 6, 2021, was not an insurrection, riot, unrest, or an attack against the United States Capitol, or any other euphemism preferred by the Effectively Deceived.  Similarly: the attack of April 12, 1861, was not an attack against Fort Sumter; the attack of December 7, 1941, was not an attack against Pearl Harbor; and the attack of September 11, 2001, was not an attack against the Twin Towers and the Pentagon – all of them were attacks against the United States of America and against every American citizen.
