The Ladies of Vision (LOV) Ministry invites you to its 7th Annual Domestic Violence Conference, “The New Me- No More Scars,” on Saturday, April 6, 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The conference will be held in the Pilgrim Baptist Church Family Life Center, 1415 8th Street, NW. Ms. Bianca Holman, a WDBJ-7 reporter, will serve as Conference Mistress of Ceremony.

Nikki Payne

Featured guest speaker will be Nikki Payne from Atlanta, GA speaking on “Comfortable Chaos.” Nikki is a domestic violence survivor, who suffered a tragic event involving a double murder suicide. Her mission in life is to help others to become victors and not another victim of Domestic Violence.

Nikki’s relationship with God has helped tremendously in her healing process. She has learned that it’s okay to experience happiness and appreciates one minute, one hour, and one day at a time.

Miss Lady Tweet

Come hear about Mental Health, the silent killer and stigma that plagues our communities. Hear also from “Lady Tweet” from Petersburg, VA as she shares her story on “Sex Trafficking and Domestic Violence.” Also learn about the dangers of how easy it can be to fall victim to sex trafficking and Domestic Violence and the signs to look for. You don’t want to miss these powerful testimonies of how these women struggled, fought, and persevered.

Separate breakout sessions will also be conducted for adult/teen females and adult/teen males. Local domestic violence agencies will also be available to provide information, assistance, and one-on-one counseling, as needed.

Inspirational music will be rendered by Praise One, a cappella Gospel Singers. A delicious lunch is included in the registration fee of only $20 for adults.

Thanks to conference sponsors, LOV will again offer a limited number of seats for young ladies and young men (ages 13-22) free of charge! You are encouraged to come increase your awareness of Domestic Violence issues and the services available to victims and their families in the Roanoke Valley. You will benefit greatly from the testimonies and information shared by speakers, agencies and facilitators.

For additional information, call 540-721-1628 or email ladiesofvision@hotmail.com. You may also register online and pay the $20.00 conference fee with your credit card at www.ladiesofvision.org; or with any LOV member at the following local Baptist churches: Chestnut Grove, First Baptist – Cloverdale, High Street, Jerusalem, Maple Street, Morning Star, and Shiloh of Salem.
