Blacksburg, VA—Special Olympics in the New River Valley will host its 10th annual “Taste of Inspiration,” at Virginia Tech’s Lane Stadium-South End Zone Club on Wednesday evening, Nov. 4. This signature event is the primary fundraiser to benefit Special Olympics athletes in their year round training and competition in the New River Valley.
Mike Burnop, Color Analyst for Virginia Tech sports radio broadcasts, will once again emcee the evening festivities. Pat Mason,Virginia Tech head baseball coach, will be on hand to show support along with several Special Olympics athletes and volunteers, to share their experiences with Special Olympics.
The South End Zone Club provides a great venue for the event. Guests will sample specialty dishes from local restaurants and taste selections from local wineries, and wines from around the globe. Vintage Cellar in Blacksburg will host the wine tasting. A selection of local beer, ribs and wings from Bull & Bones’ Brewhaus will also be featured along with other old and new caterers.
Local vendors and other supporters will provide a unique array of silent auction items, including club level seats to the Redskins vs Dallas Cowboys game at FedEx Field and more..

A limited number of tickets are still available for purchase with all money raised through Taste of Inspiration supporting participation of local Special Olympics athletes in year-round training for the regional, state and national competitions. Athletes and volunteers look forward to the weekly activities, and to the competition and pageantry of tournaments.
