Apple Ridge Farm will host its 10th Annual Golf Classic that benefits local youth at the Roanoke Country Club on Wednesday, Oct. 10, starting at 1 p.m.
Located in Floyd County, VA, Apple Ridge Farm has been providing free academic summer camps to undeserved children in the Roanoke area since 1988. More than 70,000 children, many from Roanoke’s inner-city neighborhoods and public housing projects, have visited the rural mountainside retreat since its founding. In order to continue offering its programs completely free of charge, Apple Ridge Farm fundraises year-round, with the golf tournament representing its largest fundraising event of the year. The 501(c)(3) nonprofit is looking for local individuals and businesses to sponsor the event.
Spaces are still available for golfers to sign up as individuals or in teams for the Apple Ridge Farm Captain’s Choice format tournament. Entry fees are $125 per golfer and $500 per team on or before September 19th, and $135 per golfer and $540 per team thereafter.
The entrance fee includes lunch catered by Outback Steakhouse from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., complimentary beer during the tournament, and information about Apple Ridge Farm and the presentation of awards in the evening.
