Roanoke Catholic School’s acclaimed Shamrock Hill Run kicks off St. Patrick’s Day festivities on March 14 in downtown Roanoke.

Celebrating its 25th year, the Shamrock Hill Run features a 1-mile walk starting at 8:30 a.m., followed by chip-timed 5K and 10K races that begin at 9:15 a.m. Proceeds benefit Roanoke Catholic’s tuition assistance program.

In honor of the 25-year milestone, past race organizers led by Roanoke bagpiper Brandon Davis will lead runners to the start line. The race will end in time for participants to stroll downtown and experience the St. Patrick’s Day Parade that starts at 11 a.m.

Early race registration ($25) ends March 1 at midnight. T-shirts are guaranteed to participants who register by March 1. Regular registration ($30) runs March 2 – 10; March 11 through race day, registration is $35. Discounted $20/person registration is available for school, church and corporate teams and Roanoke Catholic students and faculty.

Register at www.roanokecatholic.com. Mountain Junkies is timing the run.

Roanoke Catholic School thanks Valley Bank, WDBJ7, Outdoor Trails, Benny Marconi’s, New River Electrical Corp., R.L. Price Construction and Fleet Feet for their sponsorship support.

Celebrating its 125th year in 2015, Roanoke Catholic School welcomes students of all faiths, offering a college preparatory curriculum for grades Pre-K through 12. The fundamental task is the development of the whole person, successfully “blending learning with faith and faith with daily life.” For the Class of 2014, 88 percent of graduates received college scholarship or grant monies totaling $3.9-million.
