CHIP of the Roanoke Valley is thrilled to announce the successful completion of the third annual Back-to-School Celebration, held on Thursday, Aug. 6.
The event brought together the community for a day of support, services, and celebration as they prepared for the upcoming school year.
Due to the incredible generosity of donors, over 600 backpacks filled with school supplies to children in this community were distributed. In addition to school supplies, attendees received free haircuts, stress-relief resources, and access to a variety of community resources.
“This event has been the biggest yet. People were lined up early and were able to distribute the supplies. The community and partners showed up and showed out for the 5th Annual Back-to-School Celebration,” said Tiffany Dennis, Major Gifts Officer at CHIP of Roanoke Valley.
The event was marked by enthusiastic participation from families and children, who benefited from the essential resources provided. There were over 1,000 attendees; over 60 haircuts were provided, and Delicia’s Ice sold out. A new record! The atmosphere was filled with joy and anticipation as children received new supplies and prepared for a successful school year.
