October was a month of celebration for Cheryl Manning. During the second weekend, she traveled to Pittsburgh for her annual “college girlfriend weekend.” This is where the 50-year friendship began for these ladies that met as freshmen in 1969, during the height of the Vietnam War, on the University of Pittsburgh campus. Within the first few days of meeting, a friendship bond was quickly formed and continues 50 years later!
During the last weekend in October, Cheryl took Amtrak to Washington DC where she met with former classmates to celebrate their 50th high school reunion!
