The Roanoke Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. collected and delivered numerous school supplies for the children at Lincoln Terrace Elementary School on Wednesday, Oct. 25. Many of the children had their Back-to-School supplies, but some did not! So, Deltas began a partnership to support their supply effort to ensure that the students had the supplies they needed to be successful in school.
Principal, Stacie Wright and several members of her staff greeted members of the Educational Development Committee in the school library. Deltas who made the presentation included staff member, Gale Dowe, Gloria Randolph-King, Mary Neal and Donna W. Lee. The three containers included backpacks, notebooks, notebook paper, pens, pencils, crayons, scissors glue sticks and other items from the grade level school supply lists. The staff assured Deltas that the supplies were needed and would not be wasted.
The Educational Development Committee plans to initiate another school supply campaign for the second semester at Lincoln Terrace Elementary School that all the children may have the necessities to be successful in school.
