First Team Auto Mall in Roanoke is “Driving 2 A Cure For MDA” Labor Day Weekend!

First Team Auto Mall located at 6520 Peters Creek Rd, in Roanoke, will hold its 3rd annual Drive 2 a Cure sale-a-thon to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association this Labor Day Weekend!  The event will include First Team Subaru, VW, Hyundai and Nissan and will take place Sept. 5-7.  First Team will donate $100 from every sale of a new car to help local MDA families fighting one of 43 muscle diseases, including ALS.   This successful event has raised over $13,000 in 2013 & 2014!

Funds raised through this program support MDA’s life enhancing programs including local clinics at Carilion Clinic; equipment repairs; flu shots; therapy, support groups, educational seminars, research and funds the local summer camp program for children ages 6-17 with muscle diseases.  The Roanoke MDA camp is at the W.E. Skelton 4-H Educational Center at Smith Mountain Lake.  MDA camp allows kids to participate in activities like swimming, horseback riding, canoeing, and other activities they cannot join the rest of the year.  It is a magical experience!  The Roanoke MDA office serves 1,200 local men, women and children living with neuromuscular diseases.

MDA researchers are on the brink of cures and treatments for several of the 43 diseases covered by the association and this would not be possible without the support of local businesses like First Team Auto Mall!
