Frederick Douglass made a memorable appearance recently here in Roanoke! Sponsored by the Harrison Museum of African American Culture, Frederick Douglass made appearances at Addison Middle School’s summer program and that evening at the Harrison Museum. Both audiences were captivated by the presentations depicting the life, historical legacy, and impact of Frederick Douglass as portrayed by Nathan M. Richardson.
Mr. Richardson is in his ninth year of “The Frederick Douglass Speaking Tour” – a living history performance in which he captures completely the physical and spiritual essence of the former slave, writer, orator, and abolitionist.
A published author, Nathan’s poetry collections include “Likeness of Being,” “Twenty-one Imaginary T-Shirts” and “The Seven Last Poems of an Unarmed Citizen.” More information about Nathan M. Richardson and his work can be found at www.scpublishing.com.
