People who like living on Earth to gather for Global Climate Strike! “The threat is real, and it is local. We’re joining the global movement to end dependence on fossil fuels.”
On September 20, citizens, elected officials, empowered youth, and others who enjoy breathing clean air and drinking clean water will gather at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Roanoke as part of the Global Climate Strike Movement!
The movement, inspired by Swedish teenager Greta Thunberg and is now being localized in the U.S. by dozens of youth leaders and their allies.
We are coming together to support our youth and to present a unified front to demand transformative action on climate change.”
The gathering will take place between 4- 6 pm. Attendees are encouraged to bring signs expressing their feelings about climate change and to wear the campaign’s colors of red and black.
