Guest Commentary: The season of healing in the darkness: Allowing our inner light to shine

As we navigate this complex era of revelation and transformation, a question arises: Why now? Why is it that so many people are opening up about traumas they have held in for years, even decades? For some, this sudden outpouring may seem unexpected or even overwhelming, but perhaps it is exactly what is needed.

We talk often about generational trauma, the silent weight passed down through families, communities, and cultures. But when someone finally finds the courage to speak their truth, doubts and questions often follow: Why now? Why not sooner? Is this the right time?

The truth is, how can anyone dictate the right time for someone to unearth and share his or her pain? How can we determine the moment when a person is ready to release what has been buried deep in the darkness of their soul? The simple answer is: We can’t.

Why Now? Why Not Now?

We are living in the information age, a time when knowledge and stories are more accessible than ever. Information, at its core, is about informing others, shedding light on truths that have been hidden or ignored for too long. The phrase, “What’s done in the darkness will eventually come to light,” feels particularly poignant right now. Could it be that we are collectively moving through a period of illumination?

When you study cosmologies and cycles from cultures around the world, they often reference the ebb and flow of humanity through different ages – times of darkness and times of light. Many traditions speak of the Dark Ages, a period of confusion, suppression, and suffering. But just as the darkest night gives way to dawn, we may now be stepping out of that shadow and into what some call the Golden Age.

As we transition into this new era, truths that were hidden in the darkness are rising to the surface. These revelations may feel unsettling, even incomprehensible, but with patience and wisdom, clarity will emerge. Healing requires a willingness to face what has been hidden, no matter how painful or uncomfortable it may be.

Revelations Beyond the Surface

What we are experiencing on the planet right now – the unveiling of systemic injustices, personal traumas, and collective wounds – is bigger than any one individual or group. It’s not just about black or white, rich or poor, male or female. These surface-level issues are important, but they are symptoms of a much larger, more profound transformation.

If we get caught up in the superficial, we risk missing the bigger picture. What is happening now is part of a cosmic shift, a spiritual awakening that asks us to dig deeper, to question everything, and to embrace truths that may challenge our very sense of reality.

As they say, we aren’t in Kansas anymore.

The Light Within the Darkness

The darkness, as difficult as it may seem, serves a purpose. It is in the darkness that seeds germinate, that healing begins, and that transformation takes root. The process of healing – whether personal, generational, or collective – requires us to journey inward, to confront the shadows, and to find the light that has always been within us.

Perhaps this is the season of healing. A time when humanity is being called to reconcile with its past, to face its traumas, and to rise stronger and more unified than ever before. But this journey cannot happen by looking outward alone. The only way forward, the only way to truly heal, is to turn inward.

A Golden Age of Healing

Could this be the moment when humanity steps into its higher potential? Could this be the time when we embrace the wisdom of our ancestors, the lessons of our past, and the power of our collective future? If so, then everything is being revealed – the pain, the trauma, the truth – is part of that process.

This is not a journey of despair but of hope. The golden age is not something that happens to us – it is something we create by choosing to heal, to grow, and to shine our inner light.

The Only Way Out Is In

As we reflect on these revelations, let us approach them with an open heart and mind. Let us recognize that the season of healing requires patience, courage, and a willingness to go deeper than we ever have before. This is our moment to step out of the darkness and step into the light!
