Total Action for Progress (TAP) held its 53rd Annual Lunch on October 16 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Roanoke. The event, emceed by WDBJ7’s Neesey Payne, featured a delicious lunch, silent auction fundraiser, a visit from TAP Head Start students, speech from board member Kevin Lockhart and the presentation of this year’s Cabell Brand Hope Award to Dr. Brenda Hale.
This award is presented in honor of TAP’s founder a tireless advocate for a wide spectrum of concerns within the community.
TAP honors the legacy by presenting the “Cabell Brand Hope Award” annually and this year to Dr. Hale, who has devoted her life to serving her community and others.
Dr. Hale is an individual of high integrity who is well respected throughout the region for her commitment to community and justice, She is an 8-term president of the Roanoke Branch NAACP with an impressive portfolio of service, achievement, innovation, and collaboration locally and far beyond!
