Rev. Crystal Smith was honored as Mother of the Year at Hill Street Baptist Church during the 11:00 a.m. worship service on Sunday, May 10.
Rev. Smith is the daughter of the late John and Mary Smith. She was born and raised in Roanoke and educated in the local public school system. She started her Christian journey as a child at Hill Street Church where she was baptized and is currently one of three associate ministers. She also serves as a member of the Senior Choir and Women’s Choir and also holds the title 2nd Moderator in the Valley Baptist Association.
Rev. Smith is a retired Registered Nurse (RN) from the VA Medical Center in Salem. She holds the Bachelor of Sacred Theology and Master of Divinity from Richmond Virginia Seminary and College.
