The Harrison Museum of African American Culture (HMAAC) announces the conclusion of Executive Director E.B. Smith’s contract term.
The Board of Directors extends its sincere appreciation for Smith’s service and contributions to the museum during his tenure. We are grateful for the work completed during this period and wish him continued success in his future endeavors.
As HMAAC moves forward, our commitment remains unchanged: preserving, sharing, and celebrating African American history and culture while serving as a welcoming space for education, dialogue, and community connection.

The museum looks forward to welcoming patrons throughout the year and is especially excited for the return of the beloved Henry Street Heritage Festival on September 19, 2026. The festival represents an important opportunity to celebrate the rich legacy of Henry Street while connecting past, present, and future generations through culture, education, music, food, and community engagement.
