President Donald Trump has changed the game plan as his focus, at the beginning of his campaign, was to bring peace to the world through his policy, but indeed, it has shifted to a different agenda and exacerbated the world. Apparently, Trump has transformed into a typical politician and defaulted on most of his promises.
Peace and economy were President Trump’s focus and major agenda during his Presidential campaign, which influenced the American citizens to cast their votes and send him to the White House for the second term. It has been nearly 12 months of Trump’s Presidency and the Americans generally are still under the pressure of the economic difficulty, with the exception of the gas price that is the lowest since 2021, according to AAA
President Trump’s peace policy has continuously been falling as the two major wars, Ukraine-Russia and Israel-Hams, are unlikely to end. The war games have always benefitted the powerful nations and became the sources of profits for the elite politicians and the billionaires across the world. This is not limited to one powerful nation, such as the U.S, but in fact, it is a connection, after all, between the nations to share the profits of wars.
However, after failing to reach an agreement with the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, to stop the war and retreat from the invaded Ukraine territories, President Trump has instead made a U-turn toward Putin and invited him to join Gaza “Board of Peace’ which is a plan proposed by Trump in 2025, with some nations being members to promote stability, restore a lawful government, enduring peace, and managing Gaza.
By inviting Putin to join ‘Board of Peace”, President Trump is either swaying away from his role to stop the Ukraine-Russia war, or it is his distraction technique to shifting the focus from the Russian aggression against Ukraine to the peace process of Gaza. It is noteworthy that the Russian invasion of Ukraine’s Crimea in 2014 was a test for the U.S to respond and defend its ally, but evidently, the U.S has failed.
Russian hostility has further increased as in 2022; the Russian forces began launching attacks on Ukraine and invading more territories, which opened the door for a no ending war between the two countries. According to Council on Foreign Relations/Global Conflict Tracker/War in Ukraine, Russia now controls nearly 20% of Ukraine’s territories, including Crimea.
However, President Trump has constantly blamed former President Joe Biden for failing to stave off the Russian attacks and the invasion of Ukraine. Obviously, President Trump’s plan to end the Russian-Ukraine war has stalled as President Putin disregarded the international community, including the U.S, and continued to defy NATO.
President Putin has violated the international law in waging the war against Ukraine, and all the efforts from the international community to bring Putin to the table of negotiation and agree on a peace treaty have failed. However, the preposterous invitation by President Trump to President Putin to join the peace plan of Gaza to establish peace is completely beyond human common sense. As Putin destroyed every peace plan to end the war with Ukraine, and resulted in the devastation of the Ukrainians, there should not be a place for him in the peace plan of Gaza’s “Board of Peace.”
According to Center for European Policy Analysis (CEPA), as President Putin and his staff waged the war, they kidnapped at least 20.000 children and countless adults. However, President Trump’s foreign policy has not built a solid foundation for the nations seeking peace to unify and stand on firmly. The question is: How will a warmonger secure enduring peace in one part of the world while he is leading an ongoing war?
All in all, inviting Putin to join the “Board of Peace” to secure enduring peace in Gaza is only a political game of President Trump.
