The Local Office on Aging, along with Lewis Gale Medical Center Trauma Services invites older drivers to the CARFiT® event on Tuesday September 16, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at North Roanoke Baptist Church located at 6402 Peters Creek Road. This free, interactive and educational program is designed to improve driver safety. During the drive-through event, trained volunteers provide information to ensure the safest “fit” for drivers and their vehicles.
CARFiT® is an educational program developed by AARP and the American Occupational Therapy Association that offers older adults the opportunity to check how well their personal vehicles “fit” them. The program provides information and materials on community-specific resources that could enhance their safety as drivers and/or increase their mobility in the community
