The unforgettable three-day celebration kicked off on Friday, Aug. 14, 2026, with a warm and welcoming “Meet and Greet” at Golden Corral. The excitement continued Saturday at The Hampton Inn with a spirited game day filled with fun, laughter, and fellowship, then concluded with a delicious meal and a joyful evening celebration.
Members in attendance were proudly presented with beautiful certificates and heartfelt accolades in recognition of their remarkable 65 years of unity, friendship, and dedication as a class. A special time was set aside to remember the beloved members of the class who had passed since the last Class Reunion: John Divers; Melvin Vernon Stockton; William “Billy” Mebane, former vice president; and Regina Hamm Jones, former vice president and recording secretary. Each of these faithful members made meaningful contributions to the class through their dedication, fellowship, and support, helping to strengthen its spirit and ensure its longevity.
The class concluded its reunion activities with several members attending Sunday worship service at First Baptist Church in Gainsboro. Class member Carole Macklin Harris, who belongs to the church, was most appreciative having several members of her class attend. This cherished tradition continues to serve as the final activity of the class reunion, and the class looks forward to gathering again for another reunion in the future.
