The Market Gallery is featuring the work of three new members in September: Tracy Budd, Vera Dickerson and Gina Louthian Stanley. Also showing is current member Rod Adams. Please come meet and chat with the artists at their “Art by Night” opening reception on Friday, Sept. 4, 5:30-9 p.m. The artists will discuss their work between 6 and 7 p.m.

Tracy Budd is featuring recent acrylic paintings inspired by her travels to the Maine Coast. Vera Dickerson’s art work is a personal expression containing something of her hand and mind. Her work is a mix of watermedia and artist-created collage papers.

Gina Louthian Stanley’s new work is themed “Nature Prevails”. She explores color harmonies and surface textures through subtle changes in color, composition, method of application and surface preparation. Her primary medium is encaustic. Rod Adams is stepping outside his preferred medium of watercolor in a big way with a 10 feet by 6 feet western mural, a commission that will eventually find its home in Ohio.  As a Featured Artist he’ll give us a taste of this wall mural with large watercolor and oil paintings.

The Market Gallery, a regional artists’ cooperative, is open 10 am to 5:30 pm Tuesday – Saturday at 23 Salem Ave. (corner of Wall St and Salem Ave.) on Roanoke’s historic downtown market. For additional information call The Market Gallery (540) 342-1177.
