The Annual Queen/King Pageant of The Missionary Council of The Roanoke Valley & Vicinity was held at 5:00pm Sunday, April 28 at Sweet Union Baptist Church. The 2019 Queen Sister Marcia Reynolds Bagby was escorted by her husband Brother Chris Bagby, both members of Pilgrim Baptist Church where Rev. Dwight O. Steele, Sr. is pastor.
Queen Babgy will go to the 152nd Annual Session of Virginia Baptist State Convention to represent the Missionary Council and Valley Baptist Association on Thursday, May 16 at Marriott Chesapeake Conference Center in Chesapeake, VA. We are looking forward to Sister Bagby to win in the State Queen/King Pageant.
First Place runner up, Sister Vernetta Poindexter, represented Shiloh Baptist Church of Salem where Rev. Adrian Dowell is pastor. Second Place runner up, Sister Yvonne Hicks represented Sweet Union Baptist Church where the late Rev. Sylvia Ball was pastor and Rev. Dr. Edward T. Burton is Pastor Emeritus.
