Women are the only forces on earth capable of becoming Mothers, transforming unborn spirits onto human beings. In addition, women have genetic endowments which interplay with environmental experiences and enhance their at-birth capacities. The “Mother-Father” educational partnership is the most important undergirding factor in fostering children’s striving for educational excellence; nevertheless, mothers have the more significant impact on children’s educational achievements and are stronger academic role-models than fathers.
The fact that women are outstripping men at every educational level, from Pre-K to professional and graduate education, speaks volumes about the power of women in overcoming centuries of unequal treatment. Their success, and, therefore, cannot be measured merely by their specific accomplishments, no matter how magnificent. We must also look at the opposition they have encountered, the courage with which they have maintained the struggle against overwhelming odds, and what they have had to overcome to become. Women thrived because they surmounted and dismissed men’s limiting definitions.
Socrates said that if women ever achieve equal status with men — e.g., political and social — women would immediately become superior (and America would also rapidly improve). Perhaps fear that more women will realize their potential and capitalize on their superiority is the reason men throughout America’s history have sought to define women as inferior, of limited intelligence, with lesser value, with lesser psychological strength and leadership ability, and to embed that vile, imprudent, duplicitous cultural influence across society to get women and men, to accept, inculcate and act on that destructive absurdity.
