Oratorical Contest Winners

Congratulations to the winners of the Oratorical Contest hosted by members of the Roanoke Chapter of Omnia Bona Club, Inc. on Sunday, April 24 at Sweet Union Baptist Church. 

The winners are: 1st place, Daylon Compton, a student at Read Mountain Middle School; 2nd place, Jamiee Annettee Nutter, a student at Northside Middle School; and 3rd place, Upoleon Williams, Jr. a student at James Breckinridge Middle School.

The theme for the oratory was “What can be done to stop violence in America?” The purpose of the contest is to provide an opportunity for middle school students to express themselves creatively and demonstrate acceptable communicative skills.
