The radical Islamic groups have contributed in harming and killing almost more Muslims in the modern century than any other radicals in the world. But in every terrorist attack committed by the radical Muslims, the U.S and the West, mostly the Right wing politicians and conservatives, are rapidly coming to conclusion to incriminate Muslims in general.
While the majority people of the Middle East, Northern Africa, and some Asian countries embrace the religion of Islam or identify as Muslims, the radicals are either rejected or doomed by the high percentage of the Muslims. For example, The Islamic State (ISIS), according to The Washington Institute for Near East Policy (David Pollock), was rejected by approximately 95% of Arabs. Evidently, radical Muslims are engineering the destruction of the free society in the world, and under the Sharia rule, they are attempting to dismantle every democratic system that stands as an umbrella for diversity.
Many radical and racist domestic groups and organizations, such as Ku Klux Klan (KKK), Aryan Nations, neo-Nazi, and etc. have terrorized American society. American people have not forgotten as they were inflicted serious injuries by heinous acts that were committed by the domestic radicals, specifically, against Blacks throughout history. But the American Right wing figures and politicians often demonize the majority Muslims and people from the so-called-Third World Countries. President Donald Trump said, ”I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the U.S. system to fully recover.”
Obviously, the right wing and the Republican Party have crossed many lines in their rhetoric that even concerned some conservatives and Trump supporters. At the Turning Point U.S.A summit, the prominent former Fox News host, Tucker Carlson, clearly said, “Attacking millions of Americans because they’re Muslims? It’s disgusting. And I’m a Christian, I am not a Muslim…you should not attack people on those grounds. And you’re seeing it from Republicans” Generalizing all Muslims and forming them in one category is an obvious prejudice in American society.
The implementation of a policy based on one incident can definitely cause public agitation and fear among the majority Muslim immigrants who became part of American society and have contributed to the U.S in many ways. However, the U.S foreign policy has contributed to the influx of immigrants and created a major crisis in America. But correlating Muslim immigrants with terrorists is a fallacy. Such a statement or rhetoric intends to amplify a single incident committed by a Muslim immigrant for political purposes.
It is with no doubt that the threat of radical Muslims should not be underestimated, but also domestic radicals and extreme Right and, even Left, wing in the U.S should always be underlined as a major threat to the country. Obviously, terrorist groups and individuals prior to the existence of the radical Muslims in the U.S have traumatized American society. All in all, rejecting radicalism, extremism, and racism is an ethical obligation of every human being.
