The Economic Development Departments of the City of Roanoke, Roanoke County and the Town of Vinton are collaborating with the Virginia Small Business Development Center in Roanoke to bring a seminar to area retailers on holiday sales strategies.  The goal of the 90-minute seminar is to share ideas to help small business owners have a profitable holiday season in the months ahead.  The seminar, 7 Simple Strategies to go from Bah Humbug to BOOM will be held Wednesday, Oct. 12, 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. at the Vinton War Memorial, 814 E. Washington Street in downtown Vinton.

Topics covered in the seminar include: ways to educate the community on the benefits of shopping local, holiday hours and holiday happenings, how to create a holiday marketing strategy, how to dress up windows with the holiday look, merchandising for the holidays, customer service tips, ways to market the retailer’s particular brand, and how to personalize the shoppers experience.

The seminar is free; however, registration is required by visiting www.roanokesmallbusiness.com and selecting the event titled “Bah Humbug to BOOM.”
