The Shiloh Men’s Fellowship Ministry recently held its 5th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at the Botetourt Country Club with 37 teams competing in a great day of fellowship, competition and good food.   First Team Auto Mall donated a new car for a hole in one on the toughest hole.  Other local businesses donated many prizes for the golfers and the ladies of the Shiloh Missionary provided a sumptuous meal that was the highlight of the day.

Proceeds from this annual event have blessed many needy individuals in the Roanoke/Salem community through rental assistance, utility bills, food and hospital bill assistance, as well as donations to the Rescue Mission, Acts II Ministry, Straight Street Ministry, Salem Ecumenical Council, and the 21st Century Program at Lucy Addison School.  The Men’s ministry also gave each resident and staff member at the Salem Rehabilitation Center Christmas gifts during the holiday season.

“To see the smiles on the residents faces was an awesome blessing,” said Deacon Joe Gaither, president of the Ministry. Thru the leadership of Deacon JC Taylor this tournament has become one of the most successful events in the valley.  Mike Curd from Bedford won a new set of golf clubs by getting a hole in one.

Tournament winners were: 1st Place-Sam Lionberger, Leo Edwards, Charlie Kuehn and Brent Kuehn; 2nd Place-Pat King, Steve King, Bo Blankenship, and Aaron Eckstein; 3rd Place-Carl Luck, J. Stevens, J. Walker, and M. Luck; and 4th Place-C. Jewel, N. Overstreet, T. Spradling, and J. Elliott.
