In the spiritual world the past, present and future are all one. However in the physical world man, the Creator’s highest and most intellectual creation, through limited perception separated the three. In so doing the past is unclear, the present only a fleeting moment and the future uncertain in brevity and extent of development of all composition before its inevitable decomposition. Yet the acceleration of scientific and technological development in the maturity of modern society is resulting more in our fear of the future than in looking forward toward it as has always been customary in ages past. Through such subliminal mentality we find today’s modern mankind basically living for the moment in a “throwaway society” that places little value on anything – life no exception. Without knowledge of our eternal spiritual reality that unites and distinguishes us from the rest of creation, which begins and ends with this planet, we easily gravitate toward strong allegiance to individual men and nations, which divides us and inevitably pits us against one another.
God unites, man complicates – through the equally effective concept of “If you can’t convince ’em, confuse ’em.”
The deep rooted spirituality of mankind in its infancy as in native Americans that unites us through an innate spirituality through our Creator, is being replaced in this newest and strongest of nations with a multiplicity of religions and ministers through man that create division, fragmentation and subsequent spiritual weakness. Our state of world affairs is self evident of this pattern. Mankind at every stage of maturity has for some prejudice or selfish motive waged wars during which innumerable masses suffer and die and continues to do so. The closer one (man or nation) draws to God (however you perceive Him) the more simple and unified life becomes. Thee more we demonize and degrade select individuals and increasingly deify and worship individual “heroes” the more fragmented, competitive and vulnerable life becomes. We may do well to remember the words of one Native American being interviewed on public television who succinctly described the difference between today’s religion and spiritually as:
“Religion is what you get when you’re scared to go to hell. Spirituality is what you get when you’ve been there.”
