Rescue Mission has served over 152,865 meals to the homeless. Women of Worship Exousia Praise and Pastor Lyle Morton, of both West End and Fifth Avenue United Methodist Churches of Roanoke have partnered together to help meet the need to feed the homeless for the upcoming holiday season.
This is the 29th year that Mrs. Dana (Grace) Pannell has sponsored a food drive for the homeless. The challenge is to fill the Rescue Mission Truck parked at West End United Methodist Church at 1221 Campbell Ave., SW, Saturday, Oct. 29. Donations will accepted between 3-6 p.m. Following the drive at 6 p.m. Women of Worship will present the musical, “The Mary Project-The Stone was Rolled Away.”
