“It takes money to kill bad guys” Secretary of War Pete Hegseth said as the Pentagon is seeking an additional $200 billion to fund the Iran war. The politicians in control of the American tax dollars are designing the path to spend every dollar that serves their agenda while the American people are continuing to carry the extra burden in the country. Economist Milton Friedman clearly explained how it is easy to spend other people’s money.
“Nobody spends somebody else’s money as carefully as he spends his own”. Friedman said, and he continued as he said that, “You’re not concerned about how much it is, and you’re not concerned about what you get”. These are to the highest degree accurate statements that Friedman noted.
Aside from the political parties’ deceptiveness and conflict, which only hurt the American people, however, to explain today’s America’s predicament unbiasedly, apparently, the crocodile tears are shedding from the politicians’ eyes as they fight to snatch power from one another. It is a dirty political game that became a norm in the American system and destroyed the moral and decency in the political community.
Obviously, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which was established by President Donald Trump in 2025, to reduce the waste of American money and cut the cost and stop some unnecessary spending in order to save billions of tax dollars for American people was a mere hoax. President Trump was able to sell his claim to the American voters, but such a false claim did not last long as his intention became obvious, which was serving another political agenda with American money!
Wars have been major parts of the U.S agenda and every president has both directly or indirectly been involved in global conflicts and utilized the American tax dollars to feed such conflicts. Evidently, the weapons makers and munitions factories are on the top of the list that are profiting from wars, and indeed, there are many lawmakers who own stocks from such factories. President Trump has recently met with the weapons makers and they agreed to increase production of military munitions.
“They have agreed to quadruple production of the ‘Exquisite Class’ Weaponry in that we want to reach, as rapidly as possible, the highest levels of quantity.” Trump wrote in a social media post.
According to SLUDGE, which is a nonprofit and nonpartisan project that reports on various matters, at least 50 members of Congress and their spouses own stocks that are worth over $10 million dollars. Proposals to fund wars have always been passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate as perhaps the amount and the ways of the spending can initiate some disagreements among the lawmakers but at the end the majority will vote on the spending.
Apparently, President Trump did not succeed in finding a peaceful solution to solve the conflicts across the world and bring the conflicted parties together. Also, Trump’s campaign promises definitely evaporated as soon as he assumed his Presidential duty. The blatant request of $200 billion dollars to fund the U.S military in the Iran war, which according to FORTUNE, might only be enough for 140 more days, is revealing the intention of the Trump administration in spending American tax dollars instead of returning them.
Indeed, the slogan of “Make America Great Again” did not survive in the American reality, as the President was not able to distinguish himself from the elite corrupt American politicians.
