It is a turning point in today’s American politics as Representative Marjorie Taylor Green (R-GA) is taking a firm position by disbanding from the elite and the powerful millionaires politicians, including President Donald Trump, and perhaps, burying her political career and interest to stand alongside the victims of the financier child sex offender and predator Jeffrey Epstein.
Rep. Greene has been demanding Epstein file to be released and uncover all the accomplices and those who participated in his predatory behavior, and hence be brought to justice.
The indictment files of the United States District Court-Southern District of New York, U.S. vs Jeffrey Epstein, noted, “ The victims described herein were as young as 14 years old at the time they were abused by JEFFREY EPSTEIN, the defendant, and were, for various reasons, often particularly, vulnerable to exploitation.”
The morality and the characters of the elected officials should override their relationships and political interests. In fact, it is a major test for the Republicans at this moment that requires an ethical and firm action to bring the Epstein file to the light. Both the Democrats and the Republicans in the House of Representatives should not have a line of division in voting for the release of Epstein’s file. It is indeed an ethical obligation for both Parties to agree and vote (YEA) under no conditions.
Apparently, there has been a lingering recrimination in the House of Representatives while the release of the Epstein file continued to be delayed. House Speaker Mike Johnson commented on the Democrats vote regarding releasing the Epstein file and said, “Democrats are using the Epstein tragedy…as a political weapon to try to distract from their failures as a party.” However, as the Democrats failed in many aspects, the Republicans did not bring success as they continued to create obstacles to delay the vote on the Epstein file.
However, after months of delaying the vote on the legislation to release the Epstein file, the House of Representatives passed it. Obviously, from the beginning, Rep. Greene has been one of the few Republicans who pushed for the release of the file.
In a press conference ahead of the vote, as she referred to the women who were abused by Epstein, Rep. Greene said, “ …they are survivors, and they are strong and they are courageous … these women have fought the most horrific fight…and that is what we did by fighting so hard against the most powerful people in the world, even the President of the United States in order to make this vote happen…”
Americans deserve transparency that is a way to see the facts and understand every issue and the factors hidden behind it. Epstein’s case is every American’s problem as it involves many powerful rich figures of the nation. The individuals involved in such a heinous act of Epstein’s sex trafficking ring have terrorized the humanity of the young girls, as they will always be traumatized.
Now, as Rep. Greene championed the truth and stood with the victims of Epstein’s abusive and vicious acts, and indeed, she stepped back from her political Party and the President’s line to align with those women, the question is: Can every American representative be such a honest, disregard his/her political interests and politician friends, and stand for truth?
After all, the truth must not be bent for a political party’s interest.
