The list below is of the initial 20 players chosen for the Stats Perform HBCU Player of the Year award recognizing the most outstanding player from the 21 FCS HBCUs. Other players can and likely will be added as the season unfolds.
The Black College Football Hall of Fame (BCFHOF) initial 2026 Watch List for their 11th Black College Football Player of the Year Award presented annually to the most outstanding black college football player will be unveiled over the next couple of weeks before the Aug. 29 start of the season. The award includes players from NCAA Div. II and NAIA black college programs.
