Valley View Mall, along with its partners, Carilion Clinic, Fink’s Jewelers, WFXR Fox, Panera Bread and Star Country 94.9, is excited to host the Positively Pink Parade & Party for its 9th year. The event, which is a Mardi-Gras style celebration of life, will take place, rain or shine on Saturday, Oct. 8, at the Mall entrance adjacent to Barnes and Noble. Guests are invited to dress up in their most outlandish pink attire, bring family and friends, and take part in this entertaining and moving procession in pink led by Joe Blaha and the Roanoke College Pep Band. Returning this year, will be an opportunity to post a Survivor Selfie on Instagram or Facebook at #PPPSurvivorSelfie for a chance to win a David Yurman Sculpted Cable Heart 24” Necklace complements of Fink’s Jewelers, Valley View Mall.
The parade and party are designed to raise awareness and remember those touched by breast cancer, while celebrating the many survivors. All proceeds and donations go directly to the Every Woman’s Life program, which provides free mammograms to uninsured and under-insured women in the Roanoke Valley. The event has raised over $59,600 for the Every Woman’s Life program over the last eight years through party bag sales, A Taste of Valley View and other fund raising activities.
Returning this year for “A Taste of Valley View” includes all participating eateries from last year, including: Abuelos, Buffalo Wild Wings, Carrabbas, Longhorn Steakhouse, and Panera Bread. Event participants and their families will get to indulge in tasty samples from five of Valley View Mall’s restaurants and eateries all while benefitting a great cause
