The legacy of Richard N. and Sallie Waller was well represented with approximately 100 adults and children attending a Banquet and Dance at the Avenue Reception Hall; a worship service at the Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church and a picnic at the Loch Haven Lake when the Waller Family Reunion convened in Roanoke on July 14-15.
Four Golden Girls (grandchildren of Richard and Sallie) were honored, celebrating birthdays in their 90’s. They were: Alice Jefferson Anthony born October 1921, Sarah ‘Doll” Waller Jackson born March 1923, Lucille “Tookie” Waller Johnson, born September 1926 and Arlene Waller Boyer, born March 21, 1927.
Families in attendance represented the states of Maryland, Georgia, North Carolina, Illinois, Virginia and the District of Columbia with all family members leaving with renewed memories!
