Bank of Botetourt has promoted Jenny Tofano to branch manager of the Bank’s Melrose Plaza office while she continues serving as vice president and mortgage loan officer with Virginia Mountain Mortgage.
In her expanded role, Tofano will lead branch operations and customer service at the Melrose Plaza location while continuing to assist individuals and families with residential lending and other financial needs throughout the Melrose, Peters Creek, Cave Spring and Salem communities.
A Roanoke native, Tofano brings nearly 30 years of banking experience, including 18 years in retail banking and more than a decade in lending. She works closely with customers to navigate important financial decisions – whether purchasing a home, planning future goals or building and restoring credit as part of their financial journey.
“Jenny’s experience, leadership and commitment to helping customers succeed make her a natural fit to lead the Melrose office,” said Duane Burks, senior vice president and chief retail officer. “Her ability to guide customers through everyday banking needs while helping them reach larger financial milestones strengthens our presence in this community.”
Located within Melrose Plaza, the Bank’s Roanoke City office offers full-service community banking, including personal and business banking services, lending solutions and financial guidance. The location also features an Interactive Teller Machine, or iTM, providing 24-hour, 365-day access to many banking transactions, giving customers the flexibility to bank when it is most convenient for them.
The Melrose Plaza office reflects the Bank’s commitment to expanding access to financial services and strengthening economic opportunities throughout Northwest Roanoke.
Tofano will work alongside Rita Joyce, assistant vice president and community development officer, who brings more than three decades of banking experience and leads the Bank’s outreach efforts across Northwest Roanoke. Joyce partners with local schools, nonprofits and community organizations to provide financial education, credit coaching and banking resources designed to help individuals and families strengthen their financial well being and build a path toward long-term financial stability.

Melrose Plaza has become an important location for the Bank not only for serving customers but also for supporting employees. The development brings together healthcare, education, childcare, and other shared services in one location.
Tofano is active in the community and is a member of the Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Salem-Roanoke County Chamber of Commerce. She also serves on the associate advisory council for the Roanoke Regional Home Builders Association and participates with the Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors. She volunteers with several local organizations, including Angels of Assisi, Feeding Southwest Virginia and Habitat for Humanity in the Roanoke Valley.
