The Roanoke NAACP Youth Council proudly hosted its 12th Annual Impactors of Excellence Awards Program on Sunday, March 9, at Morning Star Baptist Church.
This inspiring event celebrated outstanding individuals who have made a lasting impact on the community through leadership, service, and advocacy.
This year’s 2025 honorees included Kenai Hunt, Aleisha Lynch, Councilman Phazhon Nash, Treasure Staples, Javyeon Tucker, Marcus Williams, Anita Wilson, and Bryce Woodliff.
Each recipient was recognized for their dedication to improving the lives of others in various fields, from public service to education and community activism. Three of this year’s honorees Councilman Phazhon Nash, Kenai Hunt, and Javyeon Tucker are former NAACP Youth Council members and past presidents. Their achievements highlight the lasting impact of the Youth Council in developing future leaders who continue to serve and uplift the community.
The evening was filled with love, gratitude, and support, with a church full of attendees, including several public officials, family members, and community leaders who came to celebrate these deserving honorees.
A special tribute was given in honor of Gloria Randolph King, a beloved community figure, whose impact and legacy were beautifully recognized through a heartfelt presentation by her daughter, Monique Randolph.
This moment served as a touching reminder of the lasting influence of leaders who dedicate their lives to uplifting others.
The success of this event was made possible by the hard work and dedication of the Roanoke NAACP Youth Council under the guidance of their advisors, Dawn Robert-Bryant and Deborah Stuart Davoll. Their leadership, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to empowering young people continue to shape the next generation of community leaders.
