Pastors and leaders will unite in prayer at Morning Star Baptist Church on Thursday, May 7, at noon for Senator Mark Warner and his family due to the loss of his 36-year-old daughter, Madison. They will also pray for other specific needs as presented by US Senators Warner and Tim Kaine, Virginia General Assembly Delegate Sam Rasoul, Roanoke City Councilman Phazhon Nash, Sheriff Antonio Hash, Police Chief Scott Booth, and Roanoke City Schools Superintendent Dr. Verletta White.
Pastors joining the leaders in prayer include: Carl Anderson of Promise Land Baptist; Sean Burch of Spirit of Unity Baptist; Bishop M. L. Hardy, Sr. of Greater Prayer Temple; Amy Christine Hodge of Mt. Zion, AME; Gary Holland of Trinity Missionary Baptist; Demetrius Russell of Sweet Union Baptist; Cecil Scott of The Vine Church; and Preston Tyler of Hill Street Baptist.
In addition to the altar call prayer for Senator Warner’s family, prayer will be lifted for physical health, the health of our nation, unity, and peace. Brother DeRon and Sister Bernadette Lark will deliver inspirational music.
To-go lunches will be served immediately following the service. Morning Star is located in Roanoke at 1513 Rorer Ave., S. W., and is pastored by Rev. Dr. L. A. Lewis.
