Roxana Naab-Boushehri first heard about Freedom Walks this past spring at an event she organized to support Palestine. An attendee asked her where and when the Freedom Walk would be. After she learned about the anti-slavery movement from the A21.org website, Navab-Boushehri decided to organize a Freedom Walk in Roanoke.
Nine people showed up this Saturday to participate in the Freedom Walk. A light drizzle kept them cool as they walked along the Greenway at Wasena Park.
