Members of the William Fleming Class of 1978 held a Gala celebrating how most were reaching “Level 65” in the year 2025.
The Gala was held at the L.H. Hamlar Event Center in Roanoke on Saturday, October 11. The formal event was well attended by classmates, spouses and friends. The delicious meal and dessert was catered by Eric Anderson’s “Mother2Son Catering.” Games were played and prizes were given, many provided by local retail businesses. Professional pictures were taken by Clifford Ramey (aka “Hootie Mack”) and everyone danced after dinner.
A table was set with a memorial for classmates who have passed over the years. Some include Ernest Anderson, Celestine Brower, Leo Brown, James Dudley, Cecelia Graham, Janet Harrington, Ethelyne Harper, Tina Hunt Mundy, Vickie Johnson, Letitia Keeling, June “Honey” McGeorge, Kathy Otey, Herbert Pannell, Janice Rhodes. The classmates were grateful to the planning committee for their efforts. The committee included: Sybil Graham, Arnetta Fraction Saunders, Wendy Moorman Johnson, Brenda Glover Trent, Sheila Holland Anderson, Ronda Durham, Anita Bannister Phifer, Sonia King and Renee Childress Cole. While some classmates have stayed closely connected through the years, others were re-united.
